Charles Leclerc crashed his car in the second practice session for the Hungarian Grand Prix, losing control of the SF-24 on the kerb exiting turn four. The Ferrari driver assures that the equipment was not too badly damaged.
His teammate Carlos Sainz completed 23 laps and set the third fastest time in the session on soft tyres.
Charles Leclerc (18th): “The car is quite good, so the day was more stable compared to previous weekends.
I went a bit wide into turn 4 and lost control of the car on the curb. Luckily the damage wasn’t too bad, but it was enough to end my training.
In the third training I will focus on covering the distance I missed on Friday.”
Carlos Sainz (3rd): “Overall a positive day, which is important in Hungary because it is a very difficult circuit to set up the car. Given the heat it was important to see how all three rubber compounds reacted to the extreme temperature of the track. We gathered useful information.
It seems like we are in better shape this weekend, but it is only Friday. Let’s see where we end up tomorrow.”
