Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez posted the second and fourth fastest times in the second practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing drivers were pleased with the effectiveness of the new products that the team brought to the thirteenth stage of the season.
Max Verstappen (2nd): “I think we did a good job with the new products we brought to this race. Of course, there is still a lot to do to optimize the car, but I think we started the weekend well. It is important to analyze everything carefully and make sure we choose the best possible settings for qualifying.
The second practice was interrupted by red flags, which prevented us from working properly for a long period of laps, but everyone was on an equal footing. We will study the data collected and continue working based on this information. In short, a good start to the weekend.”
Sergio Perez (4th): “Good Friday. I think in the second session we made a step forward compared to the first session by changing the settings. I have never felt more comfortable in a car at this stage of the weekend. The steps we made today were the best we could have done and that is very positive.
“We are in good shape and also the pace over the long series of laps looks promising. I think I can still adjust the settings a bit more, but in the end it comes down to putting the circle together when it matters. We will see what the rest of the weekend brings.”
