The McLaren drivers had a great qualifying session in Hungary, filling the front row with Lando Norris taking pole position for the second time this season.
Lando Norris (1st): “I’m just happy! Qualifying wasn’t easy, because the track conditions were constantly changing, but we were always on the front row. Overall, I’m very happy, first of all for our team, and what’s even nicer is that my partner and I occupied the entire front row, so congratulations to the whole team!”
We are not lacking confidence, we are doing well in that respect and after a few successful races we have prepared ourselves for this weekend in a good mood. We knew we could do a great job, that the car would allow us to fight for pole position, and we won it.
“Once again the team has done a great job and every weekend we are getting better and better, so winning pole position is really nice. Whatever the weather tomorrow, we will start the race from the most favourable position and I am already looking forward to the start. With both McLaren cars on the front row we can control the race. If we can keep these positions we will all be happy.”
