Athletistic / Formula 1. Mercedes’ seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton has commented on the accusations made by Red Bull’s current world champion Max Verstappen after their collision at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The British and Dutch cars collided on lap 63.
“Our collision with Max was like a racing incident. Mistakes like that happen sometimes. I don’t think there should be any animosity between us after that, but, of course, on Verstappen’s side there always will be,” RacingNews365 quotes him as saying.
Max Verstappen went off track after a collision with Lewis Hamilton, but eventually managed to continue the race. The stewards did not punish either driver for the incident. It is worth noting that in their final verdict, the stewards pointed out that Verstappen accused Hamilton of deliberately changing direction while braking.
Lewis Hamilton finished third at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The race winner was Australian McLaren driver Oscar Piastri. Max Verstappen crossed the finish line fifth.
