Kimi Antonelli: I don’t know if I’m ready for Formula 1

Kimi Antonelli has long been considered a candidate to replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes in 2025. This season, the 17-year-old Italian driver makes his debut in Formula 2 and took his second victory in Hungary. However, Kimi admits he still has a lot to learn before making the switch to Formula 1.

Kimi Antonelli: “I don’t want to think about next season now because there is no official decision yet and I don’t know what awaits me.

The goal is to have the best possible season in Formula 2. Of course, the two victories gave a boost not only to me but also to the team, which had a difficult start to the season, but now we are picking up the pace.

To be honest, I don’t know if I’m ready for Formula 1, because I keep learning a lot in Formula 2. I definitely still make mistakes. Some details are very important, but I still can’t get it right.

I don’t know what awaits me next year. I’m trying to progress and not repeat the same mistakes. I think the victory in Hungary proved that.

“I repeat, I am now fully focused on Formula 2, trying to show good results and finish the season as well as possible. The hype around me is very big because of all this talk, but we will see what happens next year.”
