In the final stage in Hungary, the Ferrari team brought an updated underbody, which should solve the problems with the car’s rocking. On the slow Hungaroring there were actually no problems, but now the Scuderia will have to test the effectiveness of the new product on the fast Belgian circuit next weekend.
Team boss Frederic Vasseur believes Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will have every opportunity to achieve a high result at Spa.
Frederik Vasseur: “The Belgian Grand Prix concludes a busy July for everyone in the team – both those working on track and those working at the base in Maranello.
Spa will allow us to evaluate how well we have done over the past few weeks to reduce side effects in fast corners with the newly introduced new products.
The car’s sway on the straights was almost undetectable at the Hungaroring thanks to the renewed underbody we brought to Budapest. Now we will find out if this problem is also solved on the motorways.
Charles and Carlos have always performed well at Spa – Charles even took his first win there in 2019. At the Belgian circuit, a lot depends on the skill of the driver. If we give them an SF-24 that they feel comfortable with and can push to the limit, then we can have a competitive weekend and score a lot of points.”
