On Thursday at Spa, Charles Leclerc was asked to comment on the first half of the season. The Ferrari driver admitted that after a strong start, results had begun to decline due to failed updates to the car.
Charles Leclerc: “I think the first half of the season can be divided into two parts. The first one has been very positive. I think we have gotten the most out of the car and some weekends we have even achieved more than we expected, which is great.
In the second part of the first half of the season we updated the car, which led to problems. They were mainly related to the build-up on the straights. This made it uncomfortable to drive the car and made it more difficult to select settings. The payoff in terms of results and points scored came quickly.
“Several previous stages proved difficult. The weekend in Budapest was less problematic and we earned a lot of points. We improved our race pace last week and I hope we can continue that in Spa.”
