Amid rumours of a possible contract termination during the season, Sergio Perez is optimistic about the future…
Sergio Perez: “In terms of the importance of the result, this stage is no different from what happened in Hungary or Bahrain, from what will happen in Zandvoort and the following races. Every weekend we have to do our best, especially now that McLaren is catching up with us in the Constructors’ Championship.
The Spa round will not be my last race, I am 100% sure of that. I know what is in my contract, I know the team trusts me. Now I am fully focused on the results on the track.
“Our goal is to win the Constructors’ Championship. We have not discussed anything other than how to get the season back on track. Pressure has always been there and will always be there, I have been used to it for a long time. Everything is as it is and that suits me. I am focused on getting the best out of the team and the car, the rest is pure speculation.”
