Haas announced ahead of the Spa weekend that Esteban Ocon will replace Kevin Magnussen next season. On Thursday, the Dane told an FIA press conference that if he cannot agree a new contract in Formula 1, he is willing to consider options to continue his career in other racing series.
Kevin Magnussen: “I am prepared to consider participation in all series. All options are possible and I am currently investigating which ones are available.
I will be driving in Formula 1. There are still places available in several teams for next season, so I want to clarify the situation with them first and only if nothing works out, I will look at other options.”
When assessing Haas’ results in the first half of the season, Kevin said: “We still lack consistency, but compared to last year we have improved significantly in this area. In 2023 we were very fast in qualifying, but fell back in the races. This season we have managed to change the situation.
However, the battle in the middle of the peloton is so fierce that the slightest mistake in qualifying will put us behind. I think this is the main reason why our results have been so inconsistent this season.”
