Pilot “Red Bull » Max Verstappen will lose 10 positions on the starting grid for the Belgian Grand Prix, according to the Formula 1 website.
The three-time world champion and current championship leader was fined for an engine replacement, which was already the fifth on his car this season, with a permitted limit of four replacements.
Yuki Tsunoda (RB), who will start the race from the back of the field, was also given a penalty for replacing several power plant components.
Verstappen leads the individual Formula 1 championship standings with 265 points.
The fourteenth stage of the season will take place at the Belgian Spa from July 26 to 28.
