In 2022, the Alfa Romeo team managed to build a relatively fast car, but it is plagued with reliability problems. Valtteri Bottas has missed the finish line three times this season, including twice in the last three races – at Silverstone and Hungary.
On the stage in Austria, the Finn started from last position due to the power plant replacement and missed Friday practice several times during the season due to technical problems.
Valtteri Bottas urged the team to improve the reliability of the C42 as soon as possible: “There is no doubt that we lack reliability. When we talk about speed, we looked better in Hungary than in previous races, and this is positive, but speed alone is not enough – you also have to finish.
It’s a shame that I retired in Hungary, because there was an opportunity to earn points. Priority should be given to improving machine reliability, then speed.”
