Charles Leclerc: It’s difficult to judge the balance of power

Charles Leclerc set the fourth fastest time in the second practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix. Summarizing the results of the session, the Ferrari driver said that it was difficult to judge the balance of power, as the rivals were each working according to their own program.

Carlos Sainz set the fifth fastest time and noted the increased grip on the track thanks to the new asphalt.

Charles Leclerc (4th): “It is difficult to evaluate the results of the day. We worked with different settings and tyres, and all the teams also acted according to their own plans. We do not have a clear picture of the balance of power.

The weather forecast for Saturday is predicting rain, but Sunday should be dry. We will continue to work on finding the optimal settings that will allow you to achieve maximum performance on each of the two days.

The last race before the summer holidays is just around the corner and we will do everything we can to achieve the best possible result.”

Carlos Sainz (5th): “This year, with the new asphalt, we saw a circuit that was very different from the one we knew. We had to adapt the car to new conditions and bumps, but in general the new surface offers more grip.

Tyre wear needs to be monitored and the race simulation was an important part of Friday’s programme. On Saturday we will try to get the most out of the car to qualify in the highest possible position.”
