Daniel Ricciardo looked good on Friday, and his teammate Yuki Tsunoda was last in the second session…
Daniel Ricciardo (14th): “In some corners they have put new asphalt with good grip, which is very nice. On Friday we tested, we tried a lot and in the second session I was happy with the car.
Tomorrow we still need to find a few tenths, but it could rain and if qualifying turns out to be the only rain session, we won’t have time to sort it out and find the clutch.
Sunday should be dry and we should feel comfortable based on what we learned today.”
Yuki Tsunoda (20th): “We have done several experiments and know what to look out for tomorrow. On Sunday I will get a fine for using new elements of the power plant, but I will try to win back.
The new asphalt at Spa is nice and smooth in places and provides excellent grip. We usually do well in the rain and this weekend the conditions look mixed, which will add to the intrigue.”
