Pilot “Red Bull » Max Verstappen set the fastest time in the third free practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix, the 14th round of the Formula 1 championship.
Third practice was held in the rain and was interrupted twice by red flags – first due to an accident by Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) and then due to the intensification of the rain. In the second case, the session resumed just two minutes before it was due to end.
Verstappen set his fastest lap in 2 minutes 1.565 seconds. The three-time world champion will lose 10 positions at the start of the race due to an engine replacement penalty.
Oscar Piastri (McLaren) finished second at the end of final practice, 1.433 seconds behind; Pierre Gasly (Alpin, +1.610) finished third.
Qualifying will start on Saturday at 17:00 (Moscow time) at the Spa circuit. The race will take place on Sunday.
