Daniel Ricciardo: I’m not disappointed with the result

Daniel Ricciardo finished eleventh at Spa, but dropped to tenth after George Russell’s disqualification. His teammate Yuki Tsunoda earned no points. In the Constructors’ Championship, RB extended its lead over Haas to seven points in the battle for sixth place.

Daniel Ricciardo (10th): “Today was similar to yesterday. I am very happy that we had a strong race with two pit stops, but unfortunately some competitors were faster and we could not do much better.

Esteban Ocon was faster and on newer tyres, but I am not disappointed with the final result because in the last laps I did my best not to let him get ahead.

Positive weekend. I leave Spa happy and excited about the upcoming summer break. After that I will gladly return to Zandvoort. We will try to keep the momentum of the last races.”

Yuki Tsunoda (16th): “This weekend I had some problems with the pace, also during the race. I didn’t feel completely comfortable behind the wheel, and from what I heard from the engineers after the race, there is a reason for that. We are getting together and studying telemetry.

The strategy didn’t work, but I knew straight away that it would be difficult to do anything given the starting position. The team will continue to attack to maintain its position in the Constructors’ Championship, despite the fierce competition in the middle of the pack.”
