Marco: Perez’s performance is an absolute disaster

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko considers Sergio Perez’s performance at Spa, where he started second and finished eighth, a “complete collapse”.

Today Marco and Horner discuss Red Bull and RB’s line-up for next season, but McLaren’s increasing pressure in the battle for the Constructors’ Championship – the gap has been reduced to 42 points after the last four Grands Prix – could be the reason for immediate changes.

Helmut Marko: “From second place Sergio had the opportunity to achieve a good result. Unfortunately, this did not happen. Especially the last segment was not a success, where he drove laps in 1:48 – it was an absolute disaster. He looked good in qualifying, but unfortunately did not live up to expectations in the race.

We will look at the general situation for 2025. We have a few riders and a concept. But for Sergio now every result is important, and eighth place from second place at the start is of course not what we expected.”
