Last year, Red Bull Racing started expanding the base and building new buildings for Red Bull Powertrains. Team leader Christian Horner said the engine building department building was named The Rindt Building in honor of 1970 Austrian World Champion Jochen Rindt, who was a close friend of Helmut Marko.
Christian Horner: “We called the building The Rindt Building because we had already passed the stage when we called buildings by number. The team has invested in infrastructure so that we can compete with current Formula 1 suppliers – we had to start from scratch 12 months ago.
We built the factory in 55 weeks, because this is the key to the future. By investing in Red Bull Powetrains, Red Bull has made a huge commitment to the sport.
Gradually everything takes shape. We have already created a full-fledged industrial campus in Milton Keynes. The investment has been significant, we have hired some impressive people at Red Bull Powetrains and they are already hard at work. The first engine will be started soon.”
