Most teams have successfully solved the problem of vertical sway of cars on straight lines, but Ferrari came back with the latest update, which they even had to abandon temporarily.
Team principal Frederic Vasseur said the engineers are doing everything they can because the results at the end of this season and next year depend on it.
Frederic Vasseur: “Eliminating the swing will immediately improve the efficiency of the machine, we are doing everything we can to solve the problem quickly and efficiently.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to simulate the swing to fight it on a simulator. It depends on many factors: the strength and direction of the wind, the condition of the asphalt and from session to session.
We have taken a big step forward, but so have our opponents. The problem is that we are balancing on the limit to get close to the leaders, but when you go over the limit you have to take a step back.
It’s good to see the competition has become so close, but unfortunately in this competition we are still the fourth fastest team we have to find.”
