Last week, Haas’ press office turned to fans with a proposal to send questions to Mick Schumacher. The team chose the most interesting options from the submitted options, asked Mik them and published his answers on social networks.
Q: You once drove your father’s cars – Benetton B194, Ferrari F2004 and Jordan 191. Which one did you like more?
Mick Schumacher: F2004. Simply because I have always considered this car the best. From childhood I dreamed of getting behind the wheel of the F2004.
Q: What is your favorite track among those who don’t host Formula 1 stages?
Mick Schumacher: Nurburgring. Unfortunately I no longer have the opportunity to speak at this track, but I would like to. Maybe in the future.
Q: How hard was it to fight Lewis Hamilton in Austria?
Mick Schumacher: I wouldn’t say it was very difficult, rather fun. He has great respect for his opponents during the fight. I liked to hold him back even though Lewis was in a faster car.
Q: What are your hobbies?
Mick Schumacher: You know, I like to try different things. Lately I’ve been crazy about surfing. Not far from my house is a swimming pool with artificial waves and I like to go there every now and then for a ride.
Question: Which country’s cuisine, which you visited with Formula 1, did you like the most?
Mick Schumacher: I call Japan. I didn’t come to this country as a Formula 1 driver, but I was in Japan with my father and we ate Kobe steaks. I really want to come back and try the local cuisine again.
Question: You speak German, English, French and Italian. Is there another language you would like to learn?
Mick Schumacher: American! (laughs) I’ve always been interested in learning new languages. Maybe I’ll get Portuguese. Actually a good question. I will think!
Q: If you were a team leader and could invite two riders from any historical era to speak for you, who would it be?
Mick Schumacher: I guess I can’t name myself? Then I will choose Sebastian Vettel and my father.
Question: Which movie can you watch infinitely?
Mick Schumacher: The entire Harry Potter movie franchise. I’ve also watched Avatar a few times. For some reason, this movie was the only one downloaded to my phone, so when I don’t have a choice of movies on the plane, I watch Avatar. I’ve seen him twenty times. I have often seen Odnoklassniki.
I have several movies that I watch over and over. You know, sometimes you pick which movie to watch and decide to add something you’ve seen so many times just because you know it’s definitely a good movie. That’s why I often look the same.
Q: Which superpower would you choose for yourself?
Mick Schumacher: I would like to be able to fly.
