After George Russell’s disqualification in Belgium, Charles Leclerc moved up to third place in the race report. For the Ferrari driver, this was the first podium since the Monaco Grand Prix in May, where he won.
Charles summarised the first half of the season: “The first half of the season has gone very well for us. I don’t think we could have hoped for more. We maximised the potential of the car, but then had four races where we used extreme settings.
With these settings in qualifying I simply didn’t understand where the limit of our car was. And we lost a lot of points in the races.
In the last two races the team concentrated on getting maximum results again. I think we succeeded, the car was just not fast enough. If we want to do better in the second half of the season we have to focus on increasing our speed.”
