Everything points to Andrea Kimi Antonelli replacing Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes in 2025, partnering George Russell. However, the young Italian driver could make his Formula 1 debut this season.
Williams boss James Vowles has admitted that the team will refuse Logan Sargent’s services after the summer break, with Kimi taking his place.
James Vowles: “Logan has to earn his place in the team, but that goes for everyone: Alex Albon and myself. I certainly wouldn’t say Logan is guaranteed a place at Williams.
Don’t think Toto Wolff is pushing us to take Kimi. No. To be honest, I’d rather give Logan a chance to succeed. But if we can make the car faster, I want to make sure we get the highest possible position in the Constructors’ Championship at the end of the season.
If Logan can show results that would be great. Otherwise I will consider other options.”
