Ten races from the end of the season, McLaren are 42 points behind Red Bull Racing. Oscar Piastri said the Woking-based team believes they have a chance to win the constructors’ championship at the end of the season.
Oscar Piastri: “The team’s main goal is to win the Constructors’ Championship, and I believe we have a very good chance of achieving this. In the last six or seven races we have closed the gap to Red Bull.
If we talk about the individual competition, I want to take the highest possible place. I do not exclude myself from the fight for the title, but this is a very serious task. I want to race strongly and fight consistently at the front, because this will help the team to win the Constructors’ Championship.
If there is a situation where Lando needs my help towards the end of the season in the fight for the title, we will discuss it. But as I said, the main goal is the Constructors’ Championship and for this I will try to do my job as well as possible.”
