AlphaTauri team principal Franz Tost reacted to Sebastian Vettel’s decision to retire at the end of the season.
Franz Tost: “I drew attention to Sebastian when he was in Formula BMW and won a lot of races. After we met several times, he was very focused. The questions Sebastian asked were very good for a young driver.
One of his strengths at the time was that he devoted all his time to Formula 1 motorsport in general. When he joined our team, he came up with fresh ideas. He was demanding and asked a lot of questions. He went into details, which is very important, he was always in a good mood, although we had problems with the car at the beginning of the season. Sebastian led the team behind him and brought us the first win in Monza.
We will miss him, I will miss him. With four world titles, he is one of the greatest drivers after Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. Sebastian has earned his place in history. I wish him and his family all the best for the future.”
