Jenzer Motorsport leaves Formula 3

Swiss team Jenzer Motorsport will leave Formula 3 after the season – team leader Andreas Jenzer told Formula Scout.

“Esther, my wife and I are already approaching retirement age,” he stressed. – Our team has participated in the GP3 Series since the beginning, since 2010, and then we have enjoyed participating in a series like Formula 3, because it is always a pleasure to work with an organization of such a high level.

But one day comes the day when you think about a different, maybe quieter life. I’ve been running this business for 31 years now and I think my wife and I have earned the right to slow down a bit, because we have to make a lot of sacrifices because of our work…

Now I help some of my employees to work in Formula 1, and some will probably move to F2, but nothing unusual is happening in the company. Jenzer Motorsport will continue to compete in F4 and develop good drivers for the next generation.

The decision to retire from Formula 3 will still have an impact on me, but I don’t know when I will be sad about it, because for now we are preparing for the last round in Monza, as well as for the tests that will take place after the end of the season, but we will already be carrying them out for a new team.”

In 2019, Yuki Tsunoda switched from Japanese F4 to F3, driving for Jenzer Motorsport in his debut season. The Swiss team’s place in F3 is likely to be taken by French DAMS.
