Juri Vips returns to IndyCar and will start the 14th round of the season on August 25, which will be held in Portland, as part of the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) team.
RLL has announced the entry of four riders, with the 23-year-old Estonian (he will turn 24 on August 10) driving the Dallara-Honda with license plate 75. The team’s other three riders are Graham Rahole, Pietro Fittipaldi and Christian Lundgaard.
Jüri Vips: “I am very grateful to the team for giving me this opportunity. I am working closely with RLL and participating in the simulator program. I have not driven an IndyCar car for a year, but I am confident that the experience I gained in Portland and Laguna Seca in 2023 will help me get up to speed quickly. It will not be easy, but I am already eager to get behind the wheel as soon as possible.”
Vips made his Indycar debut at last year’s Portland event, finishing 18th, making him the top rookie at that race. The upcoming Portland Grand Prix will be his third start in the American series.
