“Formula 1 star holiday in Portugal” – under this headline a small article appeared in the Portuguese-English publication The Portugal News, which proudly reports that at least three drivers have chosen this country to spend their summer holidays.
We are talking about Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly and Lando Norris.
By the way, the three-time world champion, who now confidently leads the individual competition, prefers this country not only in summer, but also in winter. Someone may remember that last December we talked about a funny incident that happened to him there.
Presumably, that story did not leave any bad memories for Max and his entourage, so he is now also resting in the seaside resort of Comporta, located south of Lisbon, just an hour’s drive from the Portuguese capital. Verstappen went there with Kelly Piquet, his Brazilian girlfriend and some friends.
While they are enjoying all the pleasures of a seaside holiday, the first episode of a new documentary series dedicated to Max and his life in motorsports premiered in several European countries, starting with the Netherlands. The series consists of three parts, made by TV channel Viaplay and is called Off the Beaten Track, which can be figuratively translated as “We go our own way.”
Pierre Gasly was spotted with his boyfriend, the Portuguese model Francisco Gomes, in another part of the country, in the Algarve, but Francisco’s activity on social networks was difficult not to notice. This girl often shares information about where she is going with her chosen one, whom she often accompanies during races.
They also have a very cute dog named Simba, and one of the fans, looking at the photos taken today, said with delight: “The best couple, the best dog, the best place to relax!”
The fact that Lando Norris, the McLaren driver who is second in the championship, is also spending his August holidays in the south of Portugal could also be determined by the activity of his girlfriend Magarida Corcheiro on social networks.
Although we have to make a reservation here: they have never spoken publicly about their relationship, although they have been seen together more than once since the spring of this year – for example in Miami, where Lando achieved his first victory. And these days they are also in the Algarve, in the resort of Quinta do Lago, famous for its golf courses. And golf is perhaps Norris’s biggest hobby after Formula 1…
