Oliver Berman believes the biggest difficulty in preparing for his debut season with Haas F1 will be the pace in qualifying, and the Briton will try to focus maximum attention on improving it.
“There are many areas to work on, and it’s impossible to identify everything in one free practice session,” Berman admitted when asked what he needs to improve the most. – In general, one of my weak points remains qualifying pace – I think I already talked about this when summarizing the results of Friday’s practice.
I am gradually improving, although it always seems to me that if I had a second set of tyres at my disposal, everything would be fine. It is important to learn how to make this step, first going from hard tyres to medium tyres and then to soft tyres, taking into account the minimum fuel load and the maximum engine power mode used during qualifying.
I haven’t been able to take this step yet, but it is quite a step. For now, however, I am only busy with training and I don’t have to take any risks.”
