Alpine advisor Flavio Briatore spoke about the visit of the Red Bull Racing boss to the French team’s new camper, designed by Philippe Starck and presented for the first time at Spa.
Flavio Briatore: “Everyone was interested in Spa, because the new camper looks very different inside. It really felt like you were in Courchevel; everyone wanted to see it.
Christian called me and asked if he could look at Motorhome. I said yes, maybe, and we spent 20 or 30 minutes there. We had coffee and Christian said it was the first time he had been out of his own camper for years.
Previously, all the managers except Ron Dennis would go to other teams’ campers. Everyone except him had excellent relationships with each other. I remember how we [бывшим президентом Ferrari] Luca di Montezemolo dined in Maranello. Back then, things were much friendlier between the team leaders.
Now everything is different, everyone is just thinking about how to get the best car and win. Before it was more human, I don’t know, there was more respect, but now it’s more about technology and business. I don’t know if it’s better or worse, but it’s definitely different than back then.”
