After Red Bull deal collapse, Porsche is no longer in talks about entering Formula 1. Nearly two years after the collapse of a planned partnership with Red Bull, which would have seen Porsche take 50% ownership of the team and its new powertrain division, the company’s sporting director Thomas Laudenbach has made it clear that the matter is closed.
Thomas Laudenbach: “Formula 1 is not our interest at the moment. We have many promising programmes, we are focused on what we are doing at the moment.
We participate in our customers’ races: from track days to GT4, from monocup to professional GT racing, together with Penske we participate in two of the most important endurance racing series, we participate in Formula E – the only fully electric premium series, which is very important for our business and we are very satisfied with their program.”
