The championship is far from over and McLaren is now doing better than its rivals: the team is second in the constructors’ championship and has been scoring points faster than anyone else recently. If this continues, it could seriously compete with Red Bull at the end of the season.
At the same time, McLaren Racing Executive Director Zak Brown is already making predictions for 2025 and predicts that the rivalry will only intensify as others look to catch up and repeat what his team has managed to achieve over the past year and a half.
Zac Brown: “Next year could be a really busy season for us, simply because all four teams that currently have a chance of challenging for the championship are going to improve. I think it would be naive to write off any of the top four teams.
When we talk about 2026, I feel nervous and excited at the same time, because we simply don’t know what’s coming. I have confidence that Mercedes will build an efficient engine, but if there’s one thing that keeps me up at night, it’s the uncertainties surrounding 2026.
We have achieved a lot thanks to the great work McLaren has done, but now all the teams have the same budgets and they all use the same technology. There is no reason that would stop our rivals from repeating what we have achieved.”
