Daniel Ricciardo: The summer holidays were great

RB riders are optimistic about the rest of the season, which will start with two consecutive European stages.

Daniel Ricciardo: “The summer holiday was great. I am back in Australia, seeing friends and family and feeling refreshed. I am looking forward to returning to Zandvoort.

Last year this stage divided my season, but before the accident with Oscar I really liked the circuit, the car was great on it. I am sure we can continue where we left off before the break, we will be fast and we can fight for the points.”

Yuki Tsunoda: “I am well rested and ready to race. During the break I returned to Japan and had a great time connecting with friends and family, which is not often possible during the season. Then I returned to Italy, trained, cycled a lot and even did some wakeboarding.

In Zandvoort we have a narrow and winding course. We have finished the first part of the season well, I hope we will be just as successful in the future.”

Jodie EggintonTechnical Director: “The Zandvoort circuit presents us with a variety of challenges, but we have a good base for this race which, combined with a few small updates, should allow us to keep fighting.

It is a typical old-fashioned circuit, one of the shortest on the calendar, with 14 corners of different types, connected by short straights with different profiles and many gravel traps that punish even the smallest mistakes.

“It is very important to qualify well here. In the race we will have an exciting battle with our closest competitors for the points, and we plan to continue this battle in the second half of the season.”
