Haas F1 boss Ayo Komatsu said the main goal for the remaining races of the season is the fight for sixth place in the constructors’ championship. After 14 stages, the American team is in seventh place and not losing much to its biggest rival, Visa RB.
“We are only seven points behind RB, who are in sixth place, so we have to try to move up one place in the team standings,” Komatsu told the official championship website. “That is our goal for the rest of the season. In Zandvoort we will see if we can show a good result and return to the top ten.
We had a difficult time in Budapest and Spa, and now we find out why we couldn’t score points in these two races. If we find out, we can improve. But this doesn’t affect the work with the machine, it’s already too late and the modernization program for the equipment for this season is finished. But it’s about how we configure the VF-24 for a specific circuit, how we work with tires, etc.
We are trying to make full use of the lessons we learned in Hungary and Belgium, and this is an ongoing process, but in terms of sporting goals we must try to finish the season in 6th place in the Constructors’ Championship.
I really believe that the team works very well together. We are already operating much more efficiently, and when we achieve our goals, every employee will feel that they have contributed to the common cause, regardless of their position. I think this can already be called a success.”
