In Zandvoort, Sergio Perez denied rumours that the Red Bull board meeting during the summer holidays was also about his future…
Sergio Perez: “These are just rumours. The meeting had nothing to do with the drivers, it was just about the car. I have already said everything I have to say about rumours and speculations. I am fully committed to the team. I have a contract for the next two years, I am determined to work seriously with Red Bull and I want to change the situation.
The summer vacation helped a lot. We understand the car much better now. One or two updates didn’t work properly, which led us down the wrong path, but we figured it out.
Whether we can correct this and return to the previous level is another question. I had to work hard considering the challenges we faced. I can’t go into details, but a lot of my difficulties stem from this. Not everything in the car worked as I wanted, which prevented me from getting the best out of it.”
