Alpine signs Jack Duane

The Alpine team has confirmed the contract with Jack Douhan as lead driver, who will partner Pierre Gasly in 2025.

In 2022, the Australian joined the Alpine Youth Academy, working in the simulator, taking part in tests and taking part in all six mandatory Alpine sessions for young drivers during the opening practice sessions of the Grand Prix weekend.

Oliver OakTeam Principal: “We are pleased to give Jack the opportunity to become lead driver, he will be able to demonstrate his talent and skills in Formula 1.

Jack will be the first rider to graduate from the Alpine Academy and become the lead driver, which is hugely exciting for the team and its young riders. I personally worked with Jack in 2019, I know his talent and potential well. He takes his job very seriously and his dedication is highly appreciated by the whole team.

Together with Pierre, he will form an excellent pair of drivers, successfully combining youth, experience and pure speed. We look forward to working with Jack and Pierre to further develop the car and take the team to higher positions.”

Jack Duane: “I am very excited about the opportunity to become Alpine’s lead driver in 2025. I am grateful for the trust of the team’s senior management. I have a lot to do to prepare for my debut by gathering as much information and knowledge as possible.

“It’s great to be the first Alpine Academy graduate to compete for the team and I’m very grateful to those who have supported me along the way. This is an exciting and proud moment for my family and I’m looking forward to getting started.”

The son of MotoGP legend Mick Douhan will replace Esteban Ocon, who moves to Haas F1.
