Uralkali files court appeal to demand confiscation of Haas cars and equipment – media

Russian company Uralkali has appealed to the North Holland District Court in Haarlem, demanding the seizure of cars and equipment of the Haas Formula 1 team, RacingNews365 reports.

As the source notes, Uralkali is demanding that the full confiscation of Haas’ assets only take place after the Dutch Grand Prix, which will take place next weekend. If the team’s assets are seized after the weekend, its participation in the Italian Grand Prix, which will be held at Monza from August 30 to September 1, could be in doubt.

— Haas intends to pay all amounts owed to Uralkali in accordance with the arbitration award, and no dispute arises regarding the amounts owed. Haas is working with its lawyers to ensure that the payment complies with all US, EU, UK and Swiss sanctions laws and regulations. In the coming days, we will continue to work with Uralkali to finally resolve this issue,” Haas’ press service responded to the portal’s request.

As RacingNews365 suggests, the deadline to transfer funds to Uralkali will be August 26.

Uralkali was the title sponsor of Haas from 2021 to 2022. The agreement between the parties was terminated earlier than expected due to the situation in Ukraine at that time, Uralkali had already paid the team most of the sponsorship money for that year. In June 2024, the arbitration court examined the dispute between Uralkali and the American team under the Swiss arbitration rules and awarded compensation to the Russian company. All counterclaims of the team were dismissed.
