Oscar Piastri posted the second fastest time in the second practice session of the Dutch Grand Prix. His teammate Lando Norris finished the session in fourth place. McLaren is pleased with the speed of the car in Zandvoort and expects to fight for pole in qualifying.
Oscar Piastri (2nd): “Good Friday. Not only do we have good pace on the fast lap, but we also look good in the long run. Zandvoort is always fun to drive, so it’s great to be back behind the wheel. Good first day.”
Lando Norris (4th): “Nice first day on track. We made good progress and the car is fast for tomorrow’s qualifying. The gap between the leaders is minimal, so the team will have to work hard in the evening to get the most out of the car tomorrow.”
Andrea StellaTeam Leader: “Today in Zandvoort we were able to test the car under all conditions. In the first practice we were able to work on both rain and intermediate tyres and on slicks. In the second practice we compared Soft and Medium with a view to the race.
The day proved to be very productive not only from a race preparation perspective, we were able to gather a lot of information about the aerodynamic innovations that will be on the car this weekend.
The team is now focused on achieving the best possible results during the remaining days of the weekend. We know the weather will be changeable, so we are prepared for anything. The first day in the Netherlands was very encouraging.”
