Aston Martin drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll posted the sixth and eleventh fastest times in the second practice session for the Dutch Grand Prix. The team has completed its planned programme and expects to improve on its qualifying.
Fernando Alonso (6th): “I am happy to be back on track and driving in Formula 1 for the first time in four weeks. Zandvoort is an interesting circuit, but the weather conditions were very difficult today with strong winds and rain in the first practice. You could feel the gusts of wind in the corners, but everything was the same.
The weather makes it difficult to predict what will happen on Saturday. Let’s see what we can do.”
Lance walk (11th): “It’s great to be back on track after a few weeks off. Zandvoort is a great circuit and in the second practice we were able to work on a dry track, which was valuable.
The team worked according to their program and learned a lot, so Friday was productive. We will continue to work tonight to improve the car ahead of qualifying.”
