Gasly sets fastest time in third practice for Dutch Grand Prix, Verstappen – 17th, Sargent crashes car

French driver of the teamAlpine » Pierre Gasly showed it for the first time during the last free practice session of the Dutch Grand Prix.

Gasly set his best result shortly before the end of the test, setting a time of 1 minute 20.311 seconds. Second was Denmark’s Kevin Magnussen (Haas, +0.139), the top three was closed by Finnish Kick Sauber driver Valtteri Bottas (+0.844). Current world champion and season leader Max Verstappen of Red Bull finished 17th (+4.049).

The practice took place in the rain and was interrupted by red flags due to an accident by Logan Sargent (Williams). The American lost control in one of the corners and hit the car in a bump stop; it then caught fire, but the driver managed to escape the cockpit in time.

Qualifying will take place later on Saturday in the Netherlands, starting at 16:00 Moscow time.
