Both Haas F1 drivers retired in the second half of qualifying, but believe they could have done better…
Nico Hulkenberg (14th): “It was tough in qualifying, the wind picked up after lunch, but for me it was the first flawless session of the weekend. All my other sessions were interrupted, which made the preparation for qualifying difficult, but I finished my attempts nicely.
“Overall I am happy with how qualifying went, but there is always the feeling that because of the time we lost yesterday we are one step behind our rivals. Tomorrow will be difficult. I have not driven much this weekend, I need to understand how the car behaves and react to the situation.”
Kevin Magnussen (15th): “I am a bit upset. There was a feeling that we would do better. Unfortunately, we finished at the back in a small group from 10th to 15th. Tomorrow we can try to win back, but for that we need a good pace. I hope we have a chance.”
