Alex Albon: We will draw conclusions from a difficult weekend

The race at Zandvoort was the third in a row in which the Williams team did not earn any points. Alex Albon finished fourteenth and his teammate Logan Sargent sixteenth.

Alex Albon (14th): “Difficult day. I started from a low position and the sheer pace of the car was not enough to break through the middle of the pack. If I had started from the position I should have started from, then ninth place at the finish line would have been very possible on this circuit, but it turned out as it was.

Unfortunately, our direct rivals in the championship took advantage of the situation, which is doubly insulting. We tried different strategy options, but the riders in front did not let us do anything because they were covering for their teammates.

If we talk about positive results, the new products worked and the car was fast. We will learn from the difficult weekend and try to focus on Monza.”

Logan Sargent (16th): “First of all a big thank you to everyone in the team for restoring the car for the race, I appreciate it and know how much effort it took.

“However, I was a bit lacking in pace. We tried to implement a one-pit-stop strategy, but it was difficult because of the need to defend and the large number of blue flags. But I knew it would be difficult given the starting position.”
