During the Dutch Grand Prix, the Alpine team announced the signing of a contract with Jack Duane for 2025. Together with the Australian driver, Mick Schumacher competed for the vacant seat, but Alpine, after having chosen a candidate, did not inform Mick of their decision.
Ralf Schumacher criticized Alpine for this approach: “Mick heard about the team’s decision through social networks, and this is a completely unacceptable approach! We can say that the team has completely lost its way at the moment. People are being fired, brought back, etc. And Flavio Briatore is floating above all that.”
There are still formal vacancies open for next year at Mercedes, Sauber and RB. Everything is going so far that Mercedes signs a contract with Andrea Kimi Antonelli, and Daniel Ricciardo or Liam Lawson gets a place at RB.
Actually, Mick has only one option left to return to Formula 1, but he is not giving up: “I am not giving up. There are still two vacancies, so we will continue to work. I hope that we will achieve good results at the end of the year. You have seen what I can do, and the teams know that too.”
