By finishing second at Zandvoort, Max Verstappen went five races in a row without a win for the first time since 2020. His father, former Formula 1 driver Jos Verstappen, blames the team’s management for Red Bull Racing’s declining results and calls on Christian Horner to turn things around before it’s too late.
Jos Verstappen: “A lead of over twenty seconds is a huge disappointment, but this result is not surprising if the team is returning to the previous version of the car. This suggests that the team has made wrong decisions on several occasions. They need to look in the mirror and stop sugarcoating everything all the time.
It’s time, if it’s not too late, to start asking yourself questions. Good specialists are leaving the team. I really don’t like what’s happening, because Max is not happy with this car.
“Horner needs to get the team back on track, but I’ll be surprised if he succeeds. For that to happen, a lot has to happen and the atmosphere in the team has to change completely.”
