Athletistic/ Formula 1. Aston Martin Formula 1 team boss Mike Krak has commented on Spanish driver Fernando Alonso’s move to the team.
“Fernando, no matter what, will always do his best. He is an exceptional driver, he has an incredible combination of confidence, instinct and intelligence. The signing of Fernando is a way for Aston Martin to make a name. The team aims to be among the leaders in ‘Formula 1’ and Fernando’s decision to join us is proof that the team is working well,” said Krak.
Fernando Alonso will drive for Aston Martin from 2023. Within the team, he will replace German driver Sebastian Vettel, who has announced his retirement from Formula 1 at the end of the 2022 season.
Alonso is double Formula 1 world champion in 2005 and 2006 with Renault. This season he plays for the Alpin team, and after 13 Grand Prix races he is in 10th place in the drivers’ standings with 41 points.
