Oscar Piastri: We have a very fast car

Lando Norris won the last round in Zandvoort and will be the favorite for the upcoming Italian Grand Prix. His McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri also expects to fight for victory at Monza.

Lando Norris: “I am delighted to arrive at Monza as winner of two Grands Prix. We have made a strong start to the second half of the 2024 season and are looking to continue our pace this weekend as we look to further close the gap in the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships.

“I’ve had good results in Monza in the past. It’s the fastest circuit on the calendar, which makes it even more interesting. The team has finished the preparations for the stage and we know we can do better to guarantee more victories in the future. Now we keep working to bring the team a lot of points.”

Oscar Piastri: “The team came back strongly from the holiday last week and now we are ready to repeat that in Monza. We learned from the Zandvoort stage, so let’s see how we apply those learnings. We have a very fast car, so it will be interesting.

“I’ve driven at Monza a few times in the junior racing series and I’ve always enjoyed how fast it is. I’m looking forward to performing in front of the Italian fans, who create a great atmosphere. We have a great opportunity to finish the double-leg series in the best possible way.”

Andrea StellaTeam boss: “After the incredibly strong result of Lando and Oscar in Zandvoort, we immediately focused our attention on the coming weekend. The Italian Grand Prix is one of the most anticipated stages of the season.

The team designed and built an incredibly competitive car. We have everything to do well, but we need to keep our feet on the ground and constantly improve to have the best chance of fighting for wins and podiums. We know it won’t be easy, but everyone is incredibly motivated for the remaining races of the season.”
