The fourth stage of the Russian Endurance Racing Series (REC), the AUTORADIO Grand Prix, will be the penultimate marathon of the sporting calendar.
The traditional August holiday is over and the teams return to competitive mode. The participants include teams and pilots from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novorossiysk.
So far, thirty teams in five classes have registered to participate in the race, and this is not the final list as there are still ten days before the race.
The car classes of the participants remain the same: fast sports prototypes of the CN Pro class and the CN class on domestically developed Shortcut cars, powerful and high-tech cars of the GT Pro and GT classes, as well as ‘democratic’ cars of the GT Light class. The GT Pro Touring category now has six entries and will compete for a separate REC class for the 2025 season.
The crew of pilots #111 of the Black Thorn team, Igor Mukhin and Egor Efrosinin, the leader of the general classification, will replace the NORMA sports prototype with a Ligier at this stage, which will add intrigue to the last two stages of the season.
In the race on September 8, one new crew from the Time4BMW team #73 will compete in the GT class.
For the first time this season, the SHONX team from St. Petersburg will take part in the marathon at MRW, but after the third stage with a completely changed composition. The team’s Mini car will be driven by the famous Russian driver Tatyana Eliseeva, paired with Sergei Rozhkov. Tatyana has recovered from a recent serious accident during the Russian championship and is ready to get behind the wheel again.
The SUN ZORRO team will also take part in the Moscow stage, driving Shortcut cars, inspired by their first victory at the “festival” stage of the REC on Igora Drive. The full list of participants will be published on the official website of the series.
Anastasia BendikovaGeneral organizer of the Russian Endurance Racing Series: “The list of participating teams this season is very interesting. The expected surprise of the upcoming race was the participation of the G-Drive Racing team No. 26. The team announced the Russian-designed ROSSA LMGT, driven by endurance world champion Roman Rusinov. We are looking forward to its debut.
The road version of the concept was already presented on the circuit as part of the Garage Fest festival. However, this is a sport, and creating a sports car is a painstaking and long-term work, a very difficult path. We want to see a ROSSA car at the beginning of our series. And not only ROSA.
After realizing the dream of a platoon of forty cars, we are now waiting for new Russian cars to enter the race. Today we already have the domestic Marussia GT, Shortcut and ROSSA in our series. The series is running for only two years after a break in 2020 and 2021. This is encouraging.”
REC offers spectators an entertainment program in the context of sports competitions. Pit lane walks, participation in the pre-start procedure, circuit bus tours, helicopter excursions, drift taxis and much more have become traditional.
