Formula 2 driver Franco Colapinto will step up this weekend to replace Logan Sargent in Formula 1, just like Oliver Goethe.
The Red Bull youth team member, who drives for Campos in Formula 3, will replace Franco Colapinto at MP Motorsport in Formula 2…
Oliver Goethe “I have no experience of driving a Formula 2 car, but two years in Formula 3 have prepared me well for this. My goal this weekend is to learn as much as possible, to master all the information that MP Motorsport will give me. It won’t even be easy on a circuit that I know well, because my competitors are much more experienced and I heard about it so late that I didn’t have a chance to prepare for the Formula 2 simulator. On the other hand, it’s like my debut in Formula 3 in 2022, when I entered the series in the middle of the season, earned points at the first attempt and finished fourth in the main race at Spa.
“Overall I am happy with my consistency this year, wins and podiums. It is a bit of a shame that I cannot finish my season in Formula 3 as planned. I wish Campos Racing good luck, I will keep my fingers crossed for them.”
