Former team owner and now Adrian Newey’s manager Eddie Jordan said on the Formula For Success podcast that all ten teams and two potential candidates had approached his client with a contract offer.
Eddie Jordan: “I know a little bit, all ten active teams and two that are not participating have spoken to Adrian. If anyone thinks that everything is determined by money, that is not the case. Newey is not only interested in money. He has achieved success in
Leyton House, Williams, McLaren, Red Bull. He likes to take on a new challenge and lead the team to victory.
Adrian has an amazing attention to detail. Here too, it’s the little things that matter. Compare the speed of the McLaren three or four months ago and at Zandvoort, where Norris beat Verstappen by 23 seconds. This is the result of working on small details down to the smallest detail. The engine didn’t get any better. Maybe the driver has become a better driver. But to win a race by more than 20 seconds, the car has to be magical, and Adrian is capable of such magic. He can make a simple, good car into a magical car.”
