The Haas F1 cars looked good during practice at Monza – the team is optimistic about the rest…
Nico Hulkenberg (7th): “Good Friday. Despite the new curbs, this is still the same Monza we know. Of course, the details are a little different, but the character remains the same.
In the morning the feeling from the car was positive and in the afternoon I showed good results. Sunday will depend a lot on monitoring the wear and granulation of the tires, but so far everything is going well.
In the evening we will determine the best configuration and optimize it for tomorrow. In the middle group of teams the competition is very tight, it is important to drive a flawless lap in qualifying.”
Kevin Magnussen (12th): “I took the corner too fast and spun. Fortunately the car is not badly damaged; only the front mudguard will have to be replaced. Unfortunately, I was unable to complete a long series of laps due to the departure, but we will gather this information tomorrow.
Often the grip on new asphalt is not bad, but at some moments it can increase significantly – when such a moment occurs, you have to react quickly and grab the car. In general, the feelings are positive, but the battle is so fierce that tomorrow everything will depend on the little things.”
