Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll finished the second practice session of the Italian Grand Prix in the top ten. Both Aston Martin drivers noticed that there were fewer bumps on the track thanks to the new asphalt.
Fernando Alonso (9th): “Every circuit has its own character and racing at Monza is always special. Thanks to the new asphalt, the track is smoother and less bumpy compared to last year.
During the two sessions we gathered a lot of information that now needs to be analysed to maximise the potential of the car tomorrow.”
Lance walk (10th): “It’s nice to be back in Monza – it’s a great circuit and I love coming to Italy.
After the first practice we changed a few things on the car, and in the second practice it drove much better. I think we are on the right track, but there is still work to be done tonight.
The new asphalt provides more grip and there are fewer bumps. Now performances in Monza are softer on the body!”
