McLaren reaffirmed its reputation as the fastest team at this stage of the season, with its drivers occupying the entire front row of the grid at Monza.
Lando Norris (1st): “Another pole position, and it’s great! But I’m a little bit surprised that Oscar and I were on the front row, given how things developed this weekend. Big thanks to the team, they did a great job, although I have to admit I didn’t do my best lap.
The most important thing is that it was still enough for pole position, which I am very happy with. It would be nice if this result could be repeated tomorrow, but from the very beginning of the weekend we see the rivalry unfolding extremely intensely.
There are a lot of very fast racers in fast cars starting behind me, so I don’t expect the race to be easy, especially since we have a lot of unknowns on Sunday, including what will happen with the degradation of the rubber on this new asphalt.
There are a lot of questions, but it will be interesting! Monza is a great circuit and I am looking forward to tomorrow’s Grand Prix.”
